Oy! is a durational performance in which I placed nearly fifty kippot – plural for kippah, a cap usually worn by male Jews during religious ceremonies – on my head, one after another. I then sat still for a lengthy period of time holding the stack of caps on my head. This action gradually altered my posture due to the objects' weight, alluding to my personal experience as a Jewish descendant. The present video is one of three iterations of the work.
